 It’s Panto Time

After our 2021 Pantomime was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic SHADES are back!!

SHADES will be holding our Panto Auditions on 14th October 2021 at 8pm.

The plan is to hold the SHADES AGM first and then get into the auditions.  It would be great to see as many people as possible, whether you wish to act, help with scenery / props, Back stage, make up etc.

AGM & Auditions

Thursday 14th October 2021

The Arbuthnot Hall, Shamley Green 7.30pm for 8pm start

Chris our MD has been ultra organised and arranged a song for the auditions, so please come prepared to sing. See link to the song below:

We look forward to seeing you all in a few weeks. If you would like to be involved but cannot make the auditions, please get in touch so that we can arrange a read through at a different time. Also please pass on the details anyone else who is interesting in being involved.

As with 2 years ago, we are looking to share out the work load so that no one is expected to do everything, so please free feel to start volunteering for jobs that you are interested in helping with. Roles we will be looking for will be Stage Manager (setting props, changing scenery, kicking actors onto stage at the correct moment), Prompt,  Make Up, Scenery painting, Props making (any volunteers for a beanstalk or ideas?), Painting date boards.

Our 2022 Pantomime will be Jack & the Beanstalk

Dates for the Panto will be the final week in January 2022, Thursday 27th,  Friday 28th and Saturday 29th.

Thank You

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our 2019 pantomime of Rumpelstiltskin,
every audience was fantastic and we had a great time.

We donated £200 to this year's charity
Shooting Star Children's Hospice in Artington, Surrey.

Shooting Star are a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. They support families across Surrey and London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

It costs £10 million a year to maintain the current level of care and just 10% of that income comes from government funding, so they rely on supporters’ generosity to keep the service running.

Thank you all once again and see you next year

Thanks again

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our 2018 pantomime of Puss In Boots,
 every audience has been fantastic.

We donated an amazing £300 to this year's charity Challengers.

Established in 1979, provide play and youth centres in Guildford and Farnham & community based projects across Surrey, Hampshire, and beyond, safe, fun places and activities for children and young people from aged 2 to 25 and delivered more than 135,000 hours of play for 1,300 disabled children and young people in 2015.

After a terrible fire in a store cupboard in 2017, which destroyed the children's play area in their Guildford centre, they have finally reopened in March 2018, £300 could pay for 17 children to attend their afterschool club at one of Challengers wonderful play or youth schemes.
Challengers mission is to provide truly inclusive, fun and safe places where all disabled children and young people can spend time with their friends.  To offer a positive impact for families and the wider community. For more details check out their website

Thank you all once again and see you next year
